Winter Slurs

Winter refuses to let his grip go. Spring is kept from Earth, unable to awaken due to Winter’s blustery, brutally cold wind, breathing slurs into Our Mother’s ears.

The weather is fit for the New Year, not the first of March.

Whiteness Covering

Squirrels mating in chase, morning doves cooing, other birds singing their beautiful songs, light earlier in the morning until later in the day–but Winter will not let his brutal, cold, lonely, isolating grip go.

Spring, I call to you.

Earth, I call to you.

Mother, I call to you.

Awaken and bring forth your warmth,

Bounty,

Community.

Lengthening Strength

As Sun lengthens, Winter strengthens. Sun is warm, held hostage by hazy, snowy clouds. Wind is bitter and cold, air warm from Sun’s kiss. Sky tries to push through clouds with the help of Sun. Sometimes they are successful, sometimes not. Flurries dance around under dark grey and sunny skies.
Our Mother is waking, getting ready to give birth. Sun is lengthening and Winter is showing his angry demise through his increased strength. Birds chitter chatter, calling to potential mates. Squirrels chip and squak leaving footprints all around. It is both Winter and Spring. That tenious time between the two seasons.

The Wind Continues

The Wind Continues to sway tall pines, maples, and birch, sometimes precariously. Branches fall, littering what is left of the snow with sticks, green and brown needles, and brown leaves. Sun is out strong and warm, His heat tempered by cold Air. Sky is blue with puffy white clouds racing each other to different parts of Earth.

The Wind Continues to make an androgenous sound, nearby and far away. Chimes chime loud and faint. Leaves rustle as do papers on my desk for I have opened the window to let Wind’s androgeny in.

Wind, a combination of male and female, of light and dark, of Spring and Winter, Summer and Fall. Of Goddess and God, beneficial and destructive. Wind, that which blows away the good and bad. Wind intermingles what should and should not be.

To come back as the breath of Earth is the highest divinity I wish for.

Wind, always powerful, even when a breeze.

The Winds of Change

Winter and Spring are having on hell of a blowout. Winter is attempting to maintain his grasp with fierce winds, cold temps, grey skies and bits of snow. Spring is blowing her wind, warm and soothing, warm temps, bright skies and bits of rain.

I went outside and faced the elements. This innovation is entitled The Wind of March, but I don’t think the seasons know the months by name and date.

The Wind of March brings with it hope and the fresh smell of soft brown Earth. Let the March Wind purify your body and mind by performing this healing Wind Spell.

Go outdoors to a secluded spot on a windy day.
Hear the wind rushing through the trees.
See last years dead leaves being tossed about.

Facing East, Breathe deeply and Spread your arms as if you can fly. Feel the emotional baggage you have been carrying around with you being Blown away by the wind. Now ask the Four Winds for their special help

East: Bring me positive change
South: Bring me warmth and comfort
West: Bring me emotional balance
North: le me understand the mysteries

Thank each direction when you are done. Now you can face Spring with a fresh attitude.
