Onions and Garlic

Today I planted four onions in the green bucket and two garlic heads in the silver bucket.

Sidenote: the silver bucket was the one with the seaweed.

I don’t know if I planted them right, so we’ll see what comes up next spring. I planted the onions whole and the same with the garlic.

Wolf pulled the hay (from Gitch’s) out of the truck today and put it on the garden beds, the onion and garlic, and in the compost pile. Hopefully everything will be fine for the winter.

I will anxiously await spring.

Sky is gray, the day dreary.

Ground is wet, the day dreary.

Colors are muted, the day dreary.

Bessie has hay, the day dreary.

Wolf makes bread, the day dreary.

I do homework, the day dreary.

Cold.

Wet.

Grey.

Dreary.

I’ve been spending time down in Old Hill with Jaxsun watching Mother Nature get ready for Winter.

It’s bird hunting season and seemingly all the birds have vacated Old Hill and come up to our property.

Full Harvest Moon

Or should I call it Full Hunters Moon? Either way, tonights full moon will begin the descent into winter. We can expect killing frosts each night until the snow flies.

Samhain is coming soon. Lunar Samhain is on the 22nd. I’m not sure what we’ll do, probably a fire if it’s not raining.

The wheel turns round and round. The Dark Time is coming. Time to hibernate.

Sun is preparing for his trip to the Southern Hemisphere. He is awakening later everyday and descending earlier every night. I am readying for hibernation, but will be unable to. In my next life I’ll be a bear who can hibernate during the Dark Time.
