It’s That Time of Year Again

The bitter cold may suck ass, but knowing Spring is right around the corner makes this one of my favorite times of the year. I love watching Mother Earth and Old Man Winter battle for control over Earth. And I love sitting down and picking out seeds from catalogs. Oddly, I have not gotten my catalog from Victory Seeds. I didn’t realize it was time to even *think* about seeds until I saw everyone else talking about their orders. I guess that means I’ll have to get my ass in gear and do homework not look in seed catalogs. Alas, I’ll have to ask Wolf to make the seed decisions this year. *sigh*

Last year, I started a Seed exchange. The people who signed up:

Us
Peppylady
Gina
Michelle
Heather
Maria
Stella.

Last I heard, Gina had the seeds. She’s to send them to Peppylady who will send them to me.

The way I set up the exchange is this: You take what you want, add some more, then send the whole kit-n-kabottle to the next name on the list. Take your name and put it on the bottom of the list.

If you’d like to be a part of this little bit o’fun, put a comment in. I know I’m all excited to see what’s in the mail for me!

PS: it’s flurrying out. We’ve barely gotten any snow which makes me wonder if we’ll have a late-non existent Spring, or if it’ll be very rainy. We’re in for a drought due to the lack of snow.

There’s no such thing as global warming, my ass.

Dusting

A fine white dusting of snow barely covers the grass. Freezing rain covers the snow.

This is January in New England?

Where’s the Snow?

It’s January 10th and there’s no snow. Best I can figure, we’ve gotten a grand total of 6 inches this winter season.

It’s been warm and sunny. It’s been clammy and rainy. But it hasn’t snowed. We’re going to have a huge drought come summer if we don’t start getting some white stuff.

Watch, it’ll snow in June because the seasons shifted. That’ll suck.

We had to put Caesar down today after he ingested something toxic. Or maybe it was a medical issue. All we know is he was gasping for breath and screaming. It was agonizing for us all.

We’re sitting shiva even though we’re not Jewish.
