Knitting Projects
Here is a picture of the dishcloths I made. The white one is an M&M (it’s off to the side because it was wet), the green one is a shamrock, the red one is an alien, and the rest are just plain. I was using up the rest of the yarn I had.
My next project is going to be a blanket, I just need to get some money together to buy the yarn and needles. It’s going to be for Wolf’s niece who is getting married. Thankfully she hasn’t set a date so, theoretically, I have at least a year to get it done.
I’m also going to be making some place mats for Agnes, only I haven’t decided on the pattern yet.
There is still way more that I don’t know than I do know when it comes to knitting. I have a couple books and such but I don’t find them particularly helpful. I need to *see* the action the hands are making in order to duplicate it. Words are too awkward when it comes to explaining motion and action. For example, ever tried to learn to dance out of a book instead of watching someone move their feet then mimicing their actions? Yea, way more difficult and open to mistakes. Especially to my dyslexic brain. I need to go visit my Aunt Nancy and get some lessons from her or find someone around here. Hmmm…maybe I’ll put up a notice on the board about a knitting circle. ‘Course it’s summer and not the right time for knitting but…
I am almost finished with my Hufflepuff scarf by the way. All I have left to do is add the fringe. This is proving to be the most difficult of all relating to this scarf. I just can’t figure out how to attach the fringe. Pictures when I am done.

Those are awesome! I’m sure you can find some simple afghan patterns online, have you tried googling? I can only recommend places to look for crochet patterns, sorry.
Those are great!
Thanks Turtle!
I spent a couple hours googling patterns yesterday. I found a buttload, however they were all really complex and far beyond my novice ability. I posted to freecycle asking for simple patterns. Hopefully I’ll get some pattern books.
Allie: thank you!
[...] Ok, I didn’t really but I am bummed because it’s something I’d like to participate in especially since I learned how to knit. [...]
Hi,
I have been poking around here for awhile and am enjoying reading all your posts.
A fellow NH homesteader here in Sanbornton. I recently was looking for dishcloth patterns and found these. They are very nice. Did you happen to post the patterns for them or would you consider posting them?
Thanks for sharing them.
Have a great weekend
Karyn
Karyn,
Thanks for stopping by!
I can give you the patterns for a couple of the dishcloths though I have no idea where I got them online. I think I downloaded them so I’ll email them to you. The rest was me trying to use up small bits of yarn so I knitted until the yarn ran out.
