Ark Building

So I’ve been following these directions on how to build and ark because it won’t stop effing raining in NH. It’s worse than last year, I swear.

It’s been cool all summer. I don’t think we’ve hit 90* at all and it’s only been 80* a couple times. The garden, therefore, is totally suffering.

The corn is short (and staked up again!) and fairly unhappy with the cool temps and lack of Sun. The beans are doing so-so. There’s a couple tomatoes out there, the cukes are struggling along, the squashes are on death’s door, and the potatoes haven’t flowered yet. Between the cool temps, shitloads of rain, and the tall trees I don’t think we’re going to have anything to eat this winter.

Pictures when it’s not monsooning out.

OMG! I never knew there were directions online for ark building! LOL We are experiencing the same weather here in VA. I’ve not seen anything like this before. Kind of scary.

Hi. I found your blog while surfing Homesteading Webloggers. Loved the link! Thanks. Wish I could send you and your garden some of our sun and warmth.

Leigh: thanks for stopping by. We’re getting a little sun right now which is good.

    Hello HH,

Our garden on this side of the river is doing the same. Our squash & cukes haven’t even flowered yet! You should see the surprise pumpkin in the poop pile though, the thing is huge and flowering. Might just be the only thriving plant, won’t it be funny to tell anyone how it grew when the garden gets all the effort…

Did you get the T-storm last night, a swear hale the size of moth balls! and talk about LOUD, shook the whole house!

At least we had a good weekend and today is so-so.
