Garlic Shoots

The garlic I planted last fall has little green shoots coming out of the ground.

Sigh of contentment.

Updated to add: the chives also have some shoots. Mmmm, fresh chives.

This year I’ll know to plant onions in the fall, along with the garlic. The chives are in a bucket so I don’t have to worry about them. They just keep coming back.

Oh, that’s so cool! I’d love to try garlic. Any tricks to it?

    No, no tricks.

Plant it in the fall, just before the first frost. Should be ready to harvest around July.

I got the garlic at Fedco along with potato and other seeds.
