Limpy Greens

We’re having a problem with the greens from the CSA: they go limp very quickly. Keeping them in the fridge seems to be the problem but leaving them on the counter made them rot. Suggestions on how to keep greens from going limp?

You need to make sure the bag is completely closed, or put another bag on top of the first one so the greens are not exposed to air. Or stick them in jar o f water. What kind of greens??

  2. Hmm. Maybe try keeping them on the counter with the ends in a glass of water? This works for our basil, which will go limp then black in the cold of the fridge, but keeps nicely in a vase of water…and looks pretty in the kitchen too!

Darcey: mostly the lettuce is limping out though the kale is too. Not as quickly though.

Thanks for the ideas ladies. I’ll let you know how it works out.
